DEAFNESS
Hayden developed progressive hearing loss at a young age, grew up in and out of deaf youth programs, and used a variety of assistive devices. Much of his public work advocates for language access for deaf and hard of hearing children and young people and aims to lend visibility to the diversity and complexity of Deaf identity and experience.
